Really? I don’t know, I don’t give other people’s footwear that much thought. If someone wants to advertise that he and his money were so quickly parted, it’s fine with me. At least the homeless know who to hit up.
Out of curiousity, what would be appropriate attire for such an occasion, in your refined tastes? An old pair of holey Keds and an overcoat that smells like pee?
why not? Its not as if the people there would know they were expensive. I doubt other first ladies wore Payless shoes…
I would never have given those odd shoes a second thought but for the whining about them.
It was the first time in her life that she was proud to be an American.
Agreed.
But my thoughts tend to ask instead: Who buys a pair of $540 designer tennis shoes? Vain extravagance much?
Who are you talking about? Someone receiving food from the food bank? That seems pretty insane, unless they bought the shoes and then had their world fall apart around them. Like, they were employed, bought the shoes, then lost their job and all their assets for some reason and then needed help from the food bank.
I’d have to know the back story.
Insight for the day: rich people wear expensive clothes.
Why the interest? What if she had worn a coat that cost that much? Would that be OK?
Michelle said that designer tennis shoes made her feet feel better.
"Yes We Can".
I would say that person is NOT thinking and really doesn’t care much for those that go without.
$540.00 could buy food for several families!
Are you jealous?
